Perinatal Education and Lactation Support for New and Growing Families throughout Chicagoland
Bringing a baby into the world is one of life's most beautiful transitions, but it can also be one of the most overwhelming. Somewhere between the excitement of pregnancy and the reality of sleepless nights, feeding questions, recovering from birth, and wondering if you're doing anything "right," it's easy to feel like you're supposed to have all the answers.
At Heldwell, we don't believe that. We believe every family deserves someone in their corner; someone who listens, teaches, encourages, and helps them navigate this season with confidence.
That's why Heldwell was created. Not just for lactation support and education, but to be a place where families can find trusted support through pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and the transition into parenthood.

IBCLC-led consultations to help with latching, supply, pain, or any feeding challenge, whether you're breastfeeding, combo feeding, or exclusively pumping. No judgment, no agenda, just a plan that fits your family.

Ongoing support through the postpartum transition: physical recovery, emotional adjustment, and everyday newborn care, so you're not navigating the fourth trimester alone.

Practical, confidence-building guidance on the basics: feeding cues, sleep patterns, and soothing techniques. We'll help you know what's normal, what's not, and what actually helps in those early weeks.

Hi, I'm Lauren.
For more than a decade, I've cared for women and babies as a Labor & Delivery nurse. I've had the privilege of witnessing incredible moments of strength, joy, vulnerability, and transformation. I've also seen what happens after families leave the hospital.
Parents who felt prepared for birth suddenly feel overwhelmed by feeding challenges. Mothers wonder if their baby is getting enough milk. Partners want to help but aren't sure how. Families search the internet at 2 a.m., trying to figure out what's normal and what isn't.
Too often, families are left feeling alone. I created Heldwell because I believe families deserve better. You deserve care that's personal, evidence-based, and never rushed. You deserve someone who sees the whole picture, not just a feeding session, but your recovery, your mental well-being, your goals, and your family's unique story.
At Heldwell, we believe that caring for a baby starts with caring for the people raising that baby.
We believe in educating instead of judging. Listening before advising. Supporting instead of shaming. Taking our time. Celebrating small victories. And recognizing that healthy families look different from one another.
Our goal isn't perfection, it's confidence. Because when parents feel informed, supported, and cared for, they make the best decisions for themselves and their babies.
Professionally, I'm a Labor & Delivery nurse, IBCLC, childbirth educator, and founder of Heldwell.
When I'm not working with families, you'll usually find me with my husband and our three children, exploring the western suburbs of Chicago, enjoying a good cup of coffee, or dreaming up new ways to make Heldwell an even better resource for parents.
Motherhood has deepened my appreciation for just how important compassionate support can be. It has reminded me that even healthcare professionals don't have all the answers—and that every family deserves grace, encouragement, and someone who will meet them exactly where they are.
Thank you for considering Heldwell to be part of your story.
It would be an honor to be part of this chapter with you.
